Suman Ghosh (b. 1972) directs Bengali features while working as a professor of economics at Florida Atlantic University. His debut Podokkhep (2006) earned Soumitra Chatterjee his only Best Actor National Award. Three of his films world-premiered at the Busan International Film Festival, and Shyamal Uncle Turns Off the Lights entered the collection of the Museum of Modern Art. He also directed the Amartya Sen documentary The Argumentative Indian.
