National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress (47th NFA) for Bariwali
Sudipta Chakraborty won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for Rituparno Ghosh’s Bariwali, her performance as the slum-born maidservant Maloti cited for its zest for life. She has since worked with Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Aparna Sen and Atanu Ghosh, building a career largely outside the star system.
