Atanu Ghosh (b. 1969) trained in journalism at the University of Calcutta and worked in documentary and telefilm before his feature debut in 2009. Mayurakshi (2017), starring Soumitra Chatterjee and Prosenjit Chatterjee as a father and son negotiating dementia, won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Bengali. Shesh Pata (2023) took Best Direction at both the WBFJA and Filmfare Bangla awards.
