Amitabh Reza Chowdhury (b. 1976) came to features after directing roughly 1,500 television commercials and founding the production house Half Stop Down. His debut Aynabaji (2016), a thriller about an actor who serves prison sentences on behalf of wealthy clients, was both a critical and a commercial success and won him the National Film Award for Best Director.
